Mangoes Resort are thrilled to announce our skilled new management team in Jason and Kayla Johnstone. The Johnstones have taken on the role of Resort Managers at the boutique Vanuatu resort, which is specially designed as an adults only retreat with 29 beautifully appointed bungalows.
As a couple themselves, Jason and Kayla are really excited to be helping other couples of different ages and nationalities to have a fantastic holiday in such a beautiful, tranquil setting.
The Johnstones have extensive experience in the luxury hotel market. Prior to joining the team at Mangoes Resort in Port Vila they worked at the Kauri Cliffs Luxury Lodge in New Zealand’s Bay of Islands, where Jason held the role of Assistant Manager and Kayla worked in Reservations. Kauri Cliffs Luxury Lodge is an exclusive golf resort, which has won multiple awards, and is a member of the prestigious Relais and Chateaux luxury hotel group.
Jason and Kayla have held roles as co-general managers at Australia’s Bedarra Island Resort and Paradise Bay Eco Escape in the Whitsunday Islands on the Great Barrier Reef. They have also worked in Africa, managing luxury tent camps in the Lower Zambezi National Park in Zambia.

The Johnstones say they feel very privileged to have been able to combine their passion for the hospitality industry with their love of travel and to have lived and worked in some incredibly beautiful and remote locations over the past 14 years.
Jason and Kayla are already well immersed with the team at Mangoes Resort and can’t wait to experience more of the local culture and discovering more of Vanuatu’s attractions. The Johnstones have found a new passion for paddle boarding and with so many islands to explore already feel right at home in Vanuatu!
