Virgin Australia has resumed flights to Vanuatu’s Bauerfield International Airport following the completion of repairs to the airport’s runway by New Zealand construction company Fulton Hogan.
From the 23rd of May, Virgin Australia will be offering three flights a week from Brisbane to Port Vila, with flights operating on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Virgin is also flying out of Christchurch International Airport to Port Vila via Brisbane. This is particularly good news for holidaymakers from New Zealand’s South Island looking for Vanuatu accommodation to escape the winter’s cold.
The resumption of flights by Virgin Australia gives New Zealanders and Australians a number of options for arriving at their Port Vila accommodation, with Air Vanuatu also operating direct flights from Auckland and Sydney, as well as Brisbane.
